The agreement between your business and ours about using PackedBy.

Who we are

PackedBy is operated by Jem Cas Pty Ltd (ACN 624 836 773), Sydney, Australia. In these terms, "we" means that company and "you" means the business that installs the app. Reach us at support@packedby.app.

These terms cover the PackedBy app, the Pack Station page it provides, and the packedby.app website. Installing the app means you accept them, and that you are allowed to accept them for your business. Your separate agreement with Shopify still applies.

What the app does

PackedBy shows your open unfulfilled orders on a Pack Station screen, lets a member of your team tap their name against an order, and records who packed what and when. Unless you switch it off in Settings, it also writes a packed-by tag onto the order in Shopify.

What is stored, and for how long, is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Your Pack Station link is a password

The Pack Station opens from a link containing an unguessable key, so packers can use it without logging in. Anyone holding that link, or a photograph of its QR code, can record packs for your shop. Keeping it private is your responsibility. If you think it has escaped, issue a new link in Settings, which invalidates the old one immediately.

Plans and payment

PackedBy has a free plan and several paid plans, each with a monthly limit on orders packed. Current plans and prices are shown in the app and on our App Store listing.

• Payment is collected by Shopify, on your Shopify invoice. We never see your card details.
• Plans renew monthly until you change or cancel them through Shopify.
• Any free trial is stated on the plan when you choose it, and bills normally when it ends unless you change it first.
• Refunds and proration are handled by Shopify under their rules.

Prices can change. If a price you are paying goes up we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

Going over your plan

If you pack more orders in a month than your plan allows, the app tells you. Seven days later, if you are still over, some features pause until the plan matches what you are doing. At present that means the Stats page, the recent-activity list and the CSV export. Nothing is deleted while they are paused, and everything returns complete when you change plan or your volume comes back inside it.

Your records

The pack records PackedBy holds for your shop are yours. You can export the full history to CSV at any time, and we suggest you do so before uninstalling.

When you uninstall, your access token is destroyed immediately. Shopify sends a deletion request 48 hours later, and on receiving it we permanently delete every record belonging to your shop. Reinstalling within that window keeps your history; after it, the history is gone.

Using it fairly

We ask that you do not resell or sublicense access to PackedBy, attempt to break or overload the service or reach other shops' data, or use it to break your agreement with Shopify or any law that applies to you.

The pack times the app produces are measured as the gap between one order and the next, so they include fetching stock, answering a question and finding a box. They are a guide to where a day slows down, and not a fair basis on their own for a decision about someone's employment.

Availability

We work to keep PackedBy running but do not promise it will never be unavailable. If the Pack Station loses its connection, taps are queued on the device and sent when it returns. That queue lives in the browser on that device, so clearing the browser's data, or issuing a new station link before it has sent, will lose anything still waiting.

Changes

We improve PackedBy regularly, and features may change. If we remove something you rely on, or change these terms in a way that affects you, we will say so in the app before it takes effect and the date at the top of this page will change. Continuing to use PackedBy after that means you accept the change.

Ending it

You can uninstall PackedBy from your Shopify admin at any time, with no notice and no exit fee. We may suspend or end your access if payment fails and stays unpaid, or if the app is being used in a way that breaks the section above or puts other shops at risk. We will tell you why, and where the problem can be fixed we will give you a reasonable chance to fix it.

Guarantees and liability

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Beyond them, PackedBy is provided as it is: we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or suited to a particular purpose you have in mind.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profits, or for loss of data you could have exported and did not. Where liability cannot be excluded, ours is limited to resupplying the service or refunding what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever we choose.

PackedBy records who packed an order. It does not check that the right items went in the box, and it is not a substitute for your own quality control.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and disputes go to the courts of New South Wales. We would much rather talk first: support@packedby.app.

If part of these terms is unenforceable the rest still stands, and not enforcing something straight away does not give it up. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about PackedBy.
